GOD SIGHTING STORY # 7 (CLASSICS)

Marriage or Mission?

“I want you to choose … wedding or mission?”

Ptr. Boying had a wonderful pastoral ministry in Laguna, Philippines. He was faithful in all that God has entrusted him. Then, suddenly, tragedy struck. He lost his mother, father, and sister one after the other to cancer. It was too much to handle and the immensity of his loss tempted him to doubt the love of God. But still, he chose to remain faithful and trust in God. He continued to do his pastoral duties even amidst the grief in his heart.

In time, his grieving heart began to heal. Yet there was a longing inside him for a special someone who could help him gain strength when he feels weak; someone who could cheer him up when the burden of the pastorate lies heavy on his shoulders. It was then that a beautiful young woman touched his heart and once more brought a smile to his lips. She was like a healing balm to his aching heart. Then, just like in the story of Job, Satan challenged Ptr. Buying’s loyalty and devotion to his God by directly afflicting him. He was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. The terrible pain he was going through made surgery imperative. However, even with surgery, the doctors’ prognosis was bleak. The doctors estimated he had just a few more years to live, at the worse, a few more months. Despite it all, Ptr. Boying did not waiver in his faith in God. He never even considered resting and ceasing from doing ministry work. In fact, when he received a revelation that God wants to use him for mission work his ready answer was a definite “YES!”

Determined to devote his remaining life to serving God, he proposed marriage to the special woman he has come to cherish. His joy was beyond description when she accepted his marriage proposal! However, as Ptr. Boying prepared to set out for mission work through International Teams Phils., that special woman was unwilling to join him in the mission field. She firmly asked him to choose between marrying her or becoming a missionary. Ptr. Boying was devastated. He was certain the Lord was calling him to serve as missionary in a foreign land. He could not turn his back from such calling even if it meant giving up the woman he has come to love. Losing her was the most painful event in his life. In anguished tones he cried out to the Lord, “LORD, I won’t ask you for another woman in my life. I just want to ask for extra years in my life that I could use to serve you.” God heard Ptr. Boying’s prayer.

Shortly thereafter, Boying proceeded to Uzbekistan to fulfill his missionary calling.

After more than a year in Central Asia, Ptr. Boying returned to the Philippines to embark on a new mission assignment from the Lord. Lo and behold! Just like Job being mightily blessed by the Lord after his trials and afflictions, Ptr Boying met a young and lovely lady who was then serving at the ITP office. Here was a lady with a heart for mission who later also developed a special love and fondness for Ptr. Boying! They got married and decided to continue serving as missionaries.

God was not finished blessing Ptr. Boying and bestowing miracle after miracle upon him. Over these many years, there has been no sign whatsoever of cancer in his body. Not only has the Lord completely healed Ptr. Boying, He also gave him an able and wonderful partner in life and ministry, He has also blessed them with two wonderful children. Ptr Boying and his wife, Sis Naty have served the Lord as missionaries for almost a decade in Malaysia.

Through all that he went through, Ptr. Boying was able to prove his special LOVE FOR GOD and his obedience to His bidding over and above anything else in his life!

And God honored such love and devotion in amazing ways! Ptr Boying received MIRACULOUS HEALING, A LOVELY AND SUPPORTIVE WIFE, A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY and A VERY SPECIAL MISSIONS STORY TOO!

Psalm 121: 8 The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.

Ptr. Boying Mabilangan - Two decades of service in the mission field, a truly wonderful family that he cares for, a body completely healed from cancer, and the passionate heart of a man who is willing to continue serving the Lord until his last breath.

Wonderful testimony for we have an Awesome God. Matthew 6:33, Ptr. Boying seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness that's why he received the blessings of "...all these things shall be added unto you"
