WHEN TALENT BECOMES MINISTRY

God transformed Bro. Bong’s talent for singing and songwriting—once unnoticed and seemingly going nowhere—into a powerful ministry that inspires missionaries and believers worldwide.

When Talent Becomes Ministry

Bro. Bong De Guzman is known for penning and singing the songs “Isang Panalangin,” “Aabante,” “Pagsunod,” and “Sundalo ng Diyos,” as well as many other compositions we often hear in International Teams events.

Before joining International Teams, he thought his talent in singing and songwriting was going nowhere. It seemed no one noticed it and he didn’t know where to use it. However, when he became part of International Teams, things changed. He was given the opportunity to use his God-given talent for a greater purpose.

His talent became his ministry. The songs he writes carry the message of the Lord, which inspires God’s people, specifically missionaries to go on and do the Great Commission. Doors have opened to proclaim the Word of God through songs, not only in the Philippines but also in different parts of the world, something made possible by the internet.

Aside from that, he also goes to different churches to teach those who want to write their own songs in response to what the Bible says in Psalm 96:1, “Sing a new song unto the Lord,” which also keeps him inspired.

He is now active in teaching and writing new songs, a ministry that brings immeasurable joy to his heart. God is using his passion to sing and write songs for the missionaries and people who would like to hear new messages from the Lord.

Bro. Bong’s story just shows that God designed us with different skills and talents and are lent for a greater purpose which is to further His kingdom. How about you? What skills and talents do you have? Pray that God will open doors for you to use them for His mission. God bless!
