God cut off her source of income 'cause He wanted her to depend on Him rather than on her resources.

“TAKE THE FIRST STEP OF OBEDIENCE AND GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST” (Part 1)

Sister Adora Mendoza, IT missionary and Global Filipino Dream Webinar Trainer had her most recent experience which testifies that Jesus is the God who makes the impossible possible. It was 2016 when she was invited by her senior pastor to join the Access Training of IT Philippines, a mission-sending organization. At that time, she was working as an Info Tech (IT) Manager, so she thought the training was about Microsoft apps and programs. As she gathered more information and attended the Access Training, she found out that God called her to go on missions. She initially thought she was just going to be a supporter of the mission work, but God spoke to her “You have to try so you can see for yourself”. She felt a great burden in her heart about the great commission and the urgency to go on missions. Therefore, she went and did short-term missions in other countries. Then in 2019, as she and her husband planned to join the Cutting-Edge Conference in Malaysia, she sought the Lord’s will whether it was time for her to go to other countries again. She filed for a vacation leave and if it is granted then it means that it is God’s will for her to go. Fortunately, her vacation leave was approved so she started to make some preparations. Since it is almost the peak season for traveling, flights are more expensive than usual. But God’s favor was upon her and she was able to find a good deal on flights on the internet and booked an affordable plane ticket. Everything was going smoothly however, a month before they left for Malaysia, one of their income sources was cut off. As a matter of fact, she was depending on it for their trip. It was God’s test for her on whether she would still go to Malaysia despite not having enough money. Sis Adora didn’t want to give up and she also realized that God wanted her to depend on Him rather than on her resources. True enough, the Lord provided for her. She was able to reserve a hotel accommodation which was very accessible to the venue of the conference and some famous tourist destinations. On the day of their flight, one of her friends offered them a ride to the airport so they were able to save up some money. She and her husband only had 12,000 pesos on hand, which is not enough for 5 days' expenses in Malaysia for both of them. Also, they need to pay up the hotel reservation they made and the travel tax at the airport. As she was queuing to pay for the travel tax a voice prompted her to fall in line at the credit card lane even though it said that it was ‘offline’. Furthermore, the airport personnel told her that all credit card transactions can’t be made because their system is down. Nonetheless, she still wanted to give it a try. Surprisingly, the credit card transaction went through in just one try and they were able to pay for their travel tax using her credit card, so their pocket money is still intact. Another wisdom God gave to Sis Adora was to use her Grab, a transportation app, which helped them go to different places in Malaysia. She had a balance of 2,000 in her Grab Pay Wallet hence, she didn’t have to use her cash, and even after five days of roaming around different places in Malaysia, she still had some balance left in her Grab Pay Wallet. It was in those things that she could see how God prepared everything for her mission trip. More of God’s amazing work is to be revealed as the story goes. For we know that there is none like Him and He’s the only One we need in our lives and apart from Him we are nothing. How fortunate we are to be called into His family through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ who reconciled us with the Father! To be continued…

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
